Search Tips

Choose Words Carefully
Use specific words that describe exactly what you're looking for. Using general terms will give a larger number of results, so try to narrow your search. For example:
Use: "digital camera" instead of "camera".
Use: "Sony Television" instead of "Television"
Make sure to watch for words with more than one meaning. If you're looking for information on mice, make sure you specify "computer mice" or "lab mice".

Check Spelling
Typos are the most common reason for irrelevant search results. If you're not sure how to spell a product or brand name try browsing the products category.

Try different search words
There are many words to describe any item. Imagine which words a seller might use to describe the item you're looking for. Try several different options and combinations, to be sure you get a variety of results.

Including and Excluding Words
By default, Priceflo search returns only products that include all of your search terms. The exception is very common words such as "it" and "how." These appear in so many places, they usually won't improve your results. Priceflo will indicate if a common word has been excluded by displaying details on the results page below the search box (NOT CHECK WHERE).
  • Including Words: If a common word is essential to getting the results you want, you can include it by putting a "+" sign in front of it. “The Matrix Movie” search for "+The Matrix" (Be sure to include a space before the "+" sign.)
  • Excluding Words: To exclude words, type a minus sign - in front of them. No pages containing those words will show up in your results. For example, if you want to see pages about birds with no mention of pigeons, search for "Birds -pigeons."
Exact Phrase
To search for an exact phrase, just put quotation marks around two or more words. For example, search for "catch me if you can" (typing the quotation marks into the box). This will force the search to include the common words, that would normally get excluded.

Search All of the Categories
To ensure that you get the most possible results from your search, you should select "All Categories" from the dropdown menu next to(NOTE CHECK) the search box. Even if you think you know which category a product would be found in, it's often best to search the whole site and narrow down to the right category within your initial results.

Don't Use Abbreviations or Nicknames
Because our search engine only recognizes the manufacturer-designated name for a product, do not use abbreviations, nicknames or slang words to search for a product (e.g., use "digital camera" instead of "dig cam").

Leave Space between Words:
If you are searching for a product that has a name with multiple-words, make sure to include a space between each word (e.g., use "digital camera" instead of "”digital camera”).

Don't Enter URLs-Web Addresses
Avoid using web addresses (e.g., "www.panasonic.com") as search terms. Only use product-based keywords, such as the brand or product name (e.g., "Sony" or "digital camera").

Consider Browsing
If you do not know exactly what you want, try browsing through the category listing page for surprising discoveries.
